Lutheran Campus Ministry Needs You!

Whatever your background, talents, interests, or beliefs, you are welcome in this community.

Worship  -  Wednesdays 6:00pm (when NDSU is in session)

We welcome the work of the Holy Spirit as we share the Word, join for prayer and celebrate Holy Communion.  People of all cultures, backgrounds and beliefs are welcome to join us for worship and for dinner afterward.  We also need everyone to make enriching worship happen--greeters, readers, communion assistants, musicians, singers, A/V support, liturgists, and worship team planners.  We look forward to being with you!

Hospitality  -  Open Mon - Fri 7:30-am - 10pm

Join us for dinner after Sunday worship or for lunch on Thursdays at 12:30pm.  Enjoy the coffeehouse, TV lounge, pool table, foosball, library or prayer room.  We have meeting rooms, a kitchen and a large multipurpose room with tables and chairs for up to 200 people (also available to outside organizations).

Spiritual Growth  -  lots of options - check the calendar for details

As a faith community, we explore and journey together, especially in small groups where questions and challenges are welcome.  We strive to remain open to how God may be working in each of our lives.  With respect for individual difference and the freedom of the Holy Spirit, our trained group leaders will support you to grow in ways that work for you.  Join us for a weekly group, semester retreat or service project.  Pastor Greg is also available to meet with you for individual pastoral counseling or spiritual direction.

Outreach / Service / Volunteering  -  lots of opportunities

Because we are a continually transitional community, we always need help with worship, outreach, serving meals or the coffeehouse -- we'll help you learn 'the ropes' and support you in finding a way to serve.  We are very active in serving the wider community through our area shelters, food banks, Habitat for Humanity, and other charitable organizations.  We also have service elements in all our retreats and trips, including week-long spring break and winter break mission trips.  Call or check the website calendar for more information.

Servant-Leadership  -  Student Council, Ministry Teams, Peer Ministry, Residency

As a student organization, most of our activities are envisioned, planned and led by students.  Lutheran Campus Ministry is a great way to grow your leadership abilities in a supportive and value-based environment.  Each year we need representatives for Student Government / Congress of Student Organizations.  Student Council and Board meetings are open, and you are welcome to see how much goes on behind the scenes to make this community possible.  Talk to a member of the student council for more information.  Students also serve on the Board.

Ministry Teams for Worship Arts, Hospitality, Elements Coffeehouse, Community Building, Service, Justice and Peace Advocacy, and Spiritual Formation organize various activities.  We need your help!  Talk to a Peer Minister or Pastor Greg for more information.

Peer Ministers are students of at least sophomore status who are called by the community to serve in a staff leadership position for an area of ministry suited to their gifts, energy and interests.  Experience is not necessary but will be gained 'on-the-job'.  Peer Ministers have options of residency at the ULC or a regular wage, depending on individual circumstances.  Talk to Pastor Greg for more information.

Residents help maintain and manage the ULC facility and may or may not be a peer minister.  Work-Study is financial aid awarded through NDSU.  Talk to Pastor Greg or Linda Roesler in the main office for more information or to apply for residency or work-study at the ULC.
