Summer 2009
Written by Darin Johnson

Congratulations to our recent graduates on your great accomplishments, and God's blessings as you put your gifts to good use.  And to all who just wrapped up another set of examinations and projects--Enjoy the summer break!

If you are sticking around this summer, join us for recreation, free WiFi, and quiet study space. Elements Coffeehouse will reopen with the Fall semester, but you are still welcome to study, play foosball, pool, air hockey or ping pong, just hang out or gather with friends.  We also have weekly gatherings this summer:

We are continuing our Wednesday evening gatherings, but moved up to 5:15pm.  This is an informal but significant conversation of some depth on our spiritual journeys.  We are watching clips of the video "The Future of Christianity:  A Startling New Vision of Hope for the 21st Century" and then joining in conversation and prayer and a variety of other spiritual practices.  This an open group, and all are welcome to participate.  So if you find yourself around campus this summer, please join us on Wednesdays at 5:15pm.

Let us know if you have other interests, and check the website for upcoming events.
Peace and Joy to you, and a Blessed Summer!

Welcome to Lutheran Campus Ministry!
Written by Darin Johnson

ImageWe recently celebrated our 60th Anniversary at the same time we celebrated 100 years of Lutheran Campus Ministry in the U.S.  This is a joyous as well as challenging time to be in campus ministry.  Recent studies show that as many as 80% of college students rank spirituality as very important.  On the other hand, between busy class and work schedules college students are often starved for community and connections and looking for ways to integrate learning with life.

ImageThis fast-growing Division I university is a powerhouse of technology- and industry-driven research.  But what about life's purpose and meaning?  What about joy and peace and hope for a full life?  We offer a community where great ideas and knowledge are guided by depth and values--a place to sort out how to apply your education toward a better world.  We share Jesus' vision of the Reign of God on earth:  the Beloved Community of grace, peace and justice for all.  In the spirit of Jesus, we strive to embody that community of welcome, reconciliation and love for all creation.  You are welcome here!
